About Us

Who are we? An overview of the Fontana POA

The Fontana Police Officers Association is more than just a labor union. We are an integral part of the community – Connected with the Community.

Through volunteering our time and resources, we have connected with the faith-based and social sectors, with the business and commerce sectors, and with the City of Fontana, county, state and Federal governments.

Understanding that one of the most important things we do to get to know each other is breaking bread together and talking, we focus on Connecting with the Community by providing meals cooked on our mobile barbecue by our award-winning barbecue master chefs. Along with the Citizens for the Development of North Fontana – a local civil rights organization – we inaugurated Chillin’ N Grillin’ Barbecue Cookoff held in September of each year.

In addition, we regularly cook meals for the families at Ronald McDonald House in Loma Linda.  Their loved one are critically ill children in the adjacent Loma Linda Children’s Hospital.  We have also helped with maintenance work at the House that Love Built.

We partner with Summit Church, the city, and the Firefighters Union in a community improvement project called Love Fontana.

We are an active partner with National Night Out, the Special Olympics, Christmas season gift giving, cooking special meals at the Senior Center, raising funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and for the City of Hope.

We actively support the Miss Fontana Scholarship Pageant.  We contribute scholarships to all the local high schools, participate in the Perfect Attendance Spells Success program (PASS), and we support the Rivers Edge Ranch which helps men overcome addictions to drugs and alcohol.

We are an active participant in major events at the Auto Club Speedway, Rotary Club of Fontana, the Mayors Gala to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fontana, the Chamber of Commerce, and other business – police – community partnership activities.

Fontana POA is Connected with the Community.
