RONALD MCDONALD NEEDED HELP

Ronald McDonald House offers the families of hospitalized critically-ill children with comfort, support, lodging and meals.

At least five times a year the Fontana Police Officers Association provides meals at Ronald McDonald House Loma Linda.

According to Det. Marc Gonzales who is Treasurer of the POA, “We give back to the community through many programs. At Ronald McDonald House we feed the families of sick children who are receiving critical care at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital.”

Fontana police officers, who are also members of the Fontana POA, volunteer their off-duty time to purchase the food, prepare the meals and cleanup afterward.

“As police officers we are used to taking appropriate action and going the extra mile,” Rich Guerrero, vice-president of the POA explained. “We’re always there for the public and we’re also there for the kids at Ronald McDonald House.”

Ronald McDonald House Loma Linda is currently undergoing extensive renovations. They are adding two new wings and increasing the capacity from 21 rooms to 54 rooms.

The reconstruction has been made possible by many contributors both large and small including the generosity of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.
