Board of Directors
Jason DeLair is the President of the Fontana Police Officers Association. He is a 24-year veteran of law enforcement and a graduate of the San Bernardino Sheriffs Academy. He spent eight years of service as a San Bernardino Deputy Sheriff prior to joining the Fontana Police Department. Because Jason was born and raised in the City of Fontana, when he joined FPD he was right at home. He has been assigned as a K-9 handler for 8yrs and currently holds the position of Field Training Officer and Department Mentor.
Shannon Vanderkallen is the Vice President of the Fontana Police Officers Association. He is a 10-year veteran with Fontana Police Department. Prior to that he served four years with Glendale PD. He has been assigned to the gang detail, undercover operations, as a training officer and is currently a member of the regional SWAT Team.
Shannon was born and raised in the area and played soccer at Chaffey College. He is currently in the process of completing his bachelor’s degree. He is the owner of NutriShop, a local business located on Sierra Lakes Avenue in Fontana.
Chris Macias is the Treasurer of the Fontana Police Officers Association.
Chris a graduate of the San Bernardino Sheriffs’ Academy and began his law enforcement in 2008 with the Fontana Police Department.
He is currently assigned to the Detective Division. His past assignments include patrol, narcotics and the Rapid Response Team. Chris comes from a family of law enforcement professionals.
He was raised in the Inland Empire and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Cal State Fullerton University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Cal State Dominguez Hills University.
He enjoys working for the Fontana Police Department because it gives him an opportunity to do something different every day. He believes that policing is a very valuable public service. The work of a law enforcement officer is never routine.
Chris is happy to have the opportunity to help improve the City of Fontana through public service.
He has two small children. He loves sports and coaches local both baseball and soccer teams. “Coaching children,” he said, “is about teaching them the valuable life-lessons which sports can teach. It is a great pleasure of my off-duty life.”
Sergeant at Arms
Patrick Heusterberg is the Sergeant at Arms of the Fontana Police Officers Association. He is a 17-year veteran with Fontana Police Department.
Prior to joining the Fontana Police Department, Patrick obtained his BS in Business Management from the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) and obtained his Master of Public Administration from Cal Baptist University in 2013.
He has been assigned as a K9 Officer, Motor Officer, a Motor training officer and is currently assigned to patrol as a field training officer.
Patrick was born and raised in the Inland Empire and has a family ties to law enforcement with five other family members, retired or currently in law enforcement.
In his off-time Patrick enjoys spending time with his family, camping/fishing, going off-roading in his jeep and golfing.
