Letter from the President

The Fontana POA is focused on helping to recruit and retain the best police officers because the best officers provide the most professional and dependable police services to the community. There is no greater honor than being a Fontana police officer.

We also believe in connecting with our great community through volunteer service and financial assistance. We support several different charities with the help of your generous donations.

Before we contribute our time and resources we always want to know: What is the Return-On-Investment.

What good will the investment of our time and money do?
What is the value to the people living in the greater Fontana community for our investment?

Let me give an example. We are a major sponsor of the Inland Valley Youth Sports Classic Series which includes basketball, football, soccer and volleyball. Our support benefits our community because it recognizes and honors young athletes who are well rounded young citizens.

To be selected to a Classic Series All Star Team requires the athlete must be an excellent player, must demonstrate excellence in scholarship, and must have a record of volunteerism and involvement in giving to others through faith or service organizations.

These young men and women are the school leaders of today and will be the community leaders in a couple of years: teachers, coaches, police officers and business owners.

Great kids should be honored.

We also regularly work with the dozens of local and regional charities including the Ronald McDonald House – Inland Empire where we prepare meals for families of critically ill children who are hospitalized. We partner with St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Concerned Citizens for the Development of North Fontana, Arrowhead United Way, Calvary Church’s Love Fontana, Red Cross, Heroes and Helpers, local schools and more.

Since 2006, the Fontana POA has been able to provide over $100,000 in goods and services annually. In addition to financial contributions FPOA members volunteer an average of 30 hours per-member per-year. None of that would be possible without the generosity of our sponsors, supporters and members.

One of the things that separates our assistance fund from others and makes us unique is the fact that none of the monies raised are used for administrative costs or salaries for the non-profit.

What does that mean for you?

You know that every dollar raised or donated to through the FPOA Assistance Fund goes directly to those in need!

I want to thank you for being a part of our commitment to the greater Fontana community where together we are making a difference in the lives of those who are struggling.

Respectfully,

RICH GUERRERO, President
FONTANA POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION
