About The Fontana Police Officers' Association

The Fontana Police Officers' Association (FPOA) members support numerous community organizations throughout the year by making donations and volunteering their time. Some of the organizations the FPOA support are: The Fontana Boys and Girls Club, Special Olympics, Relay for Life Walk for Cancer, St. Jude's Hospital, Loma Linda University Hospital, Children's Assessment Center, Fontana Santa's, Shop with a Cop and Walk for Diabetes.

Currently, our association is comprised of 188 sworn law enforcement officers. We support the department's mission of protecting the community by providing "Service with Integrity."

Our association, like our department and community, continues to grow. Some of the duties that our members perform are patrol, traffic, motorcycle patrol, bike patrol, narcotics, background investigation, detective, school resource officer, gang and multiple crimes enforcement, K9, helicopter observer, internal affairs, GTA task force, terrorism task force and special enforcement detail.

We also have specially trained officers in defensive tactics, major accident investigation and hostage negotiations. In addition, our Field Training Officers are tasked with training the new police officers in the Fontana Police Department. Each new hire rotates through the field training program with different officers until he or she is ready to go on patrol as a solo officer.

The City of Fontana is located in San Bernardino County approximately 50 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. Fontana's population, as of the 2012 Census is 200,762, making it the second most populous city in San Bernardino County. As the City of Fontana continues to grow, the Fontana Police Officers' Association takes pride in the ongoing partnership with our diverse community. We will continue to serve the community with courtesy and professionalism.
